Donald Trump blames California forest mismanagement for wildfires, threatens to pull federal money.

Forest mismanagement, really?

Jesus, that is an asshole thing to say!

Here is what California is dealing with right now.

Courtesy of CNN:

A Northern California fire has become the most destructive in the state’s modern history, killing at least nine people and wiping out much of an entire town.

As firefighters struggle to contain the uncontrolled wildfires, forecasters said intense winds and low humidity could fuel the blazes and make them spread even farther.

Evacuees trapped in traffic abandoned their cars and ran with their children in tow as the Camp Fire quickly closed in on Northern California’s Butte County.

Malibu mansions burned to the ground in Southern California, while another fast-growing brush fire left employees at the Los Angeles Zoo racing to protect animals from smoke.

In Thousand Oaks, a community mourning this week’s mass shooting, a recreation center where survivors grieved was filled with people fleeing the fire.

A quarter of a million people have been forced from their homes statewide as the Camp Fire in the north and two other major fires — Woolsey and Hill — in Southern California burned this weekend.
The idea that this devastation is the result of poor forest management is ridiculous and insulting to the people in California who are in the process of losing their homes, and in some cases loved ones.
Trump is really just pissed at California for standing up to him and for voting in such large numbers for his opponent in 2016.

That’s why we don’t hear him bitching at Florida for poor coastal management when they get devastated by hurricanes.

But if you are Puerto Rico, well fuck Puerto Rico, right.

And his threat of pulling federal funds is just about the ugliest, most fascist thing I have heard come out of his mouth so far.

He literally wants to let this state burn, and its people, die for not supporting him.

(By the way, most scientists agree that the reason for increased wildfires in California is climate change, not forest mismanagement.)

Thousands of residents took to the Pacific Coast Highway to head south or took refuge on beaches, along with their horses and other pets.

Among those forced to flee were celebrities including Lady Gaga and Kim Kardashian, who said on Twitter that flames had damaged the home she shares in nearby Calabasas with Kanye West.

“Fire is now burning out of control and heading into populated areas of Malibu,” the city said in a statement online. “All residents must evacuate immediately.”

I care more about ‘regular’ people than I ever will celebrities
Welcome to what many of us live every day. Harsh? Too bad..

He’s already fine with Kanye and family roasting. Good for Kanye for quitting politics.
Trump seems to take joy in death for California.
Didn’t or doesn’t daughter Tiffany and her mother live in California?

As a Californian, I first want to say, “Fuck you, Donnie Dotard.” Second, California is a creditor state; it gives more money to the federal government than any other state. We produce so much “revenue” that if we were an independent nation we would have universal health care, free college education, world-class mass transit, unparalleled (for the US) social programs, guaranteed income, and many other programs with zero debt. Instead, our money goes to debtor states that constantly deride California. Finally, fuck you Dotard. And fuck you to those who attack California.

      Amen brother.

    • Anonymous November 10, 2018 at 12:59 pm

Didn’t California use to have free college education before Ronnie Regan got rid of it when he was governor?

    • Anonymous November 10, 2018 at 5:12 pm

How much in debt are the California governments? That’s hard to know too. According to a January 2017 study, “California state and local governments owe $1.3 trillion as of June 30, 2015.” The study was based on “a review of federal, state and local financial disclosures.”

In other words, that $1.3 trillion in debt is the amount to which California governments admit. Other studies believe it to be more. Indeed, one study says it is actually $2.3 trillion and a recent Hoover Institute stated that there is over $1 trillion in pension liability alone, or $76,884 per household. Incredibly, there are 4 million current pension beneficiaries, a number that continues to grow and which exceeds the total population of 22 states.

What’s the right number? Apparently, it is so large it is hard to accurately estimate. In every case, the number is staggering.

      • Anonymous November 10, 2018 at 10:37 pm

How many governments does California have?

      • Anonymous November 13, 2018 at 3:32 pm

Now, please give us the revenue numbers, especially that GDP for California alone and how much we send in taxes to D.C. and NEVER GET BACK.

If California were an independent nation, we would be ranked 5th richest in the world.

In other words, kiss my ass Comrade Google Troll.

Capitalism is creating the fires, it is not in accord with nature, hence, global warming.

Nature always wins, no matter how closely you hug your bible or cover your eyes, or vote for financial economy over ecological economy.

    • Anonymous November 10, 2018 at 5:24 pm

Lol. Maybe you should do a little research into the history of the worlds worst fires.

“Capitalism is creating the fires” Hahahahahahahaha.

Oh, and don’t forget to sell your car and house and computer and all your clothes and essentially every item in your possession brought to you by the evil capitalism as you make your way down to lovely Venezuela.

And, meanwhile, Trump’s temper tantrum continues in France. He’s a no-show at a ceremony commemorating the dead at a military cemetery in Belleau Woods, one of the first major battles involving US troops, about an hour away from Paris. It’s raining there today but just think of what those WW! soldiers endured in the mud trenches. He sulked when meeting with Macron and who knows if he will participate in Sunday’s assembly of world leaders at the Arc de Triomphe in Paris in remembrance of the November 11, 1918, armistice at the eleventh hour of the day. Rain is again forecasted for Sunday. I wonder if anyone will be able to pull Trump out of his purple mood by then. And, where oh where in all of this, is the third wife? Out shopping? Posing in front of mirrors?

    • HELL-O November 10, 2018 at 9:49 am

And, meanwhile ‘What Fresh Hell’ got buried – or were at least under-appreciated – due to the daily firehose of political pratfalls, unhinged tweet $Torms and other sundry embarrassments coming out of the current White House.

      FB”Arsonist in Chief

Oh, and that forest? Yeah, that was under FEDERAL management, not state. Trump is literally responsible for it.’

I’m seeing a lot of stuff on social media attacking the President for cancelling his visit to the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery in France today because of weather. Trump sent his wife instead.
Folks, in fairness to Trump, he couldn’t honor American fallen today because of severe pain from his old Vietnam gonorrhea wounds.”<Jim Wright

1 comment was "The French would much rather have Melania anyway. She'll wear something expensive and French couture, and will be self-effacing, thus allowing the event to be about the fallen, and not about him."

Ombrophobia. Ombrophobia or Pluviophobia is the fear of rain- a fairly common anxiety disorder seen in kids and adults alike.
The term Ombrophobia originates from Greek 'Ombros' meaning “$Torm of rain” and phobos meaning “fear or aversion”."

      • Anonymous November 10, 2018 at 12:13 pm

        “Dumb Donald was SOOOOO dumb….”
        How dumb was he????

    • Anonymous November 10, 2018 at 1:01 pm

He was afraid he was going to melt in the rain? And insulted Macron before he even arrived in France.

  5. Whatevs November 10, 2018 at 9:20 am

To The Rump, forest management = clearcutting by timber companies.

    • anonymous November 10, 2018 at 10:51 am

Agreed. The Rump likely wants enough old growth redwood to build a bigly family compound somewhere.

  6. Anon November 10, 2018 at 10:16 am

Don’s nut case voters make bombs, shoot assault rifles at kids and innocent adults, they send poison, and set fires during the Santa ana wind season. The low IQ useful idiots help Donnie distract, attack and ruin society at every chance. And then don screams caravan, invasion, poor management. And mexico will not pay for his moronic wall and neither will Americans. Don wont be the lying fake slob and imposter much longer. America will be removing the rigger from our house. Its mueller time.

  9. Birdbrain November 10, 2018 at 12:04 pm

The Camp Fire, which has wiped out the town of Paradise (east of Chico), may have been the fault of PG&E high tension lines. As well as being in the federal forest. So it’s not Trump’s direct fault, but he’s not winning any sympathy votes from Californians right now.

  10. Anonymous November 11, 2018 at 1:19 am

The majority of our forests are managed by the Federal government. Ask a ranger and they’ll tell you fire is a good thing in moderation. It is part of the natural process of a forest, renews it and brings new life.

    Fire suppression isn’t healthy.

But I’m sure Trump has clear cutting for profit in mind as “responsible management.”
