Suck it up, sister! You knew what you were getting into!

President Trump berated Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen in a dispiriting Cabinet meeting on immigration Wednesday, according to three administration officials, but her colleagues denied reports that she has threatened to quit.

Trump lashed out at his Cabinet, and Nielsen in particular, when told that the number of people arrested for illegally crossing the Mexico border topped 50,000 for the second consecutive month. The blowup lasted more than 30 minutes, according to a person with knowledge of what transpired, as Trump’s face reddened and he raised his voice, saying Nielsen needed to “close down” the border.

“Why don’t you have solutions? How is this still happening?” he said, adding later, “We need to shut it down. We’re closed.”

Administration officials spoke on the condition of anonymity to provide a candid account of the private meeting.

Trump’s tirade went on so long that many present began fidgeting in their seats and flashing grimaces, White House aides said. Eventually, the topic moved on to health care, bringing relief to many in the room.

Apparently, this event happened in front of a number of witnesses, including Kellyanne Conway, Ivanka, Jared, and Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

Some reports suggest that Trump was upset that Nielson was not more willing to pry children out of the arms of their immigrant mothers which is something that he has been pushing for lately.

According to Politico Nielson was essentially out the doer until Mike Pence intervened.

Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen drafted a resignation letter and nearly quit after President Donald Trump upbraided her during a Cabinet meeting Wednesday, a senior administration official told POLITICO.

But by early Thursday evening, Nielsen, a protégé of White House chief of staff John Kelly who was confirmed by the Senate a mere five months ago, appeared to be backing down from that threat, saying in a written statement that “the president is rightly frustrated” by continuing illegal immigration and “I share his frustration.”

When Vice President Mike Pence heard that Nielsen was close to resigning, he summoned her to the White House Wednesday afternoon to urge her to stay, the official said, adding that she appeared to have been in better spirits Thursday.

This is one of those stories where I have mixed feelings again.

On the one hand, like I said, these people know what they are getting into by now. So it is hard to feel any sympathy.

But on the other hand, I think most of us know what it is like to have an asshole for a boss, so you kind of want them to tell Trump to fuck off and storm out of the White House like a champ.
