What the shit?

A GoFundMe campaign created by church leaders for a devout Christian couple who are attempting to resurrect their dead two-year-old daughter through faith and prayer has raised more than $50,000.
Andrew and Kalley Heiligenthal’s two-year-old daughter, Olive Alayne Heiligenthal, died early Friday morning after she stopped breathing in her sleep in Redding, California.
The family called 911, and paramedics rushed Olive to a hospital, where she was declared dead. Her body was transferred to the Shasta County Coroner’s Office, a spokesman from the couple’s church told DailyMail.com.
On Sunday, Kalley wrote a heartbreaking post on Instagram, calling for ‘bold, unified prayers from the global church to stand with us in belief that He will raise this little girl back to life’.
Since then, more than 1,000 donations have poured in on the GoFundMe campaign, which the church says will go entirely toward the family’s unexpected expenses.
It is no secret that I am pretty anti-religion, but one of the few positive things that I thought religions did was to comfort those who have lost loved ones.
However if this church is encouraging these people to hope that their daughter will be raised from the dead, rather than helping them to mourn her loss, they are failing to do even that.
This seems incredibly cruel in my eyes, and somebody should intervene to help this couple face reality and move on with their lives.
And if I read this right the money is going into the church coffers, which is simply disgusting and is reason enough that they should be shut down for good.
Don’t these “believers” ever read their Bible?
“As Coroner, I must aver I thoroughly examined her.
And she’s not only merely dead, She’s really, most sincerely dead.” – Munchkin Coroner, The Wizard Of Oz
Thanks for the laugh. I always loved this line from WoO. As an old nurse I have a few gallows humor stories of new docs declaring kids dead or telling parents… ..” uhh, I think she’s dead”. and “Yup, he’s dead”. .
I’m not being disrespectful, just relaying young docs’ first experiences with a dead child.
Waay back in the mid 80s we had a 9 year old child die (expectedly after a long illness) and the mother put the kid in a wheelchair, covered her up cozly and propped with blankets evidently, made it out of the hospital, into the car, to the airport, through security and was caught trying to board a plane to FLA.
These animals aren’t kristians, not by any stretch of the imagination.
Trying to understand…how much $$ does god want to resurrect her? lmfao. These people should not breed.
Meanwhile, faith-healing believers are still being sent to prison for murder of their children.
Rightfully so.
You’ve gotta be a pretty cold person to use a dead toddler as a fund raiser.

” defended his controversial pardon of a convicted child rapist by claiming that the 9-year-old victim’s hymen was “intact,” which experts say medically proves nothing.”
“the judge who sentenced Baker said that in three decades in practice he had “never seen a more compelling or complete case… the evidence was just overwhelming.”
“Bevin claimed that he pardoned Schoettle because his conviction was “based only on testimony that was not supported by any physical evidence.” ”
“Asked during a radio interview on Thursday why he chose to pardon a child rapist, Bevin responded, “Which one?”
“”Both their hymens were intact,” Bevin said. “This is perhaps more specific than people would want, but trust me. If you have been repeatedly sexually violated as a small child by an adult, there are going to be repercussions of that physically and medically.”
Experts rejected Bevin’s medically wrong claim.
Dr. George Nichols, the longtime former Kentucky chief medical examiner, told The Courier-Journal that “rape is not proved by hymen penetration.”
“Rape is proved by phallic penetration …
Was going to .leave a smart ass comment about a possible fund raiser to revive an occasionally dead body part of mine. Doesn’t seem quite so humorous following the above post!

I see what you did there.
Inconceivable.
Those poor parents. They are obviously out of their minds with grief and shock. How disgusting for the church to prey on them and make money off of it at the same time. I really hope this couple gets the grief counseling they need and they get the hell out of that toxic church. The leadership of that church should know better.
Of course they know better. They need to care better.
another sick. someone get those poor kids out of that church. only Jesus could raise the dead, and he did it once. their child was taken by God because that is all the time she was given. you go when your time is up.
Being raised from the dead has NOTHING to do with biology.
The Christian problem – the ignorance – had always been one of reification.
UPDATE!
“REDDING, Calif. – The family and church that have been praying for the resurrection of a 2-year-old girl are transitioning to a memorial service to celebrate the young girl’s life.
A Facebook post by the Bethel Church on Friday acknowledges an outpouring of prayers hasn’t brought Olive Heiligenthal back to life. A press release from the church says the girl’s parents, Andrew and Kalley Heiligenthal, are now planning the service.
Olive died Dec. 14 when she suddenly stopped breathing, and since that day, church members and others turned to prayer, music and song on the girl’s behalf.
“Here is where we are: Olive hasn’t been raised. The breakthrough we have sought hasn’t come,” the Facebook post says.”

OH AND THIS!
“As of midafternoon Saturday, a GoFundMe page that was posted by co-workers and friends of the family had raised $57,238.
The Heiligenthals will use those donations to pay for funeral and family living expenses, the church said.
“They are incredibly thankful for the prayers and support that the community has shown as they and thousands of people have been believing for a miracle,” the church statement says.”
