Brett Kavanuagh desperately trots out the virgin defense. Wait, what?

Courtesy of The New York Daily News:

The embattled Supreme Court nominee claimed Monday he couldn’t have sexually assaulted any of his accusers because he was a virgin “many years” into college — but none of his alleged victims have made claims of rape or sexual penetration.

“I did not have sexual intercourse or anything close to sexual intercourse in high school or for many years thereafter,” Kavanaugh said during an appearance on Fox News, sitting alongside his wife, Ashley.

“Never had sex with anyone in high school and through years in college?” host Martha MacCallum asked.

“That’s correct,” Kavanaugh responded. “Many years after, I’ll leave it at that.”

Yeah, you know a virgin’s hands can also tear a girl’s clothing and cover her mouth.

And a virgin’s penis being pushed into your face is just as traumatizing as having any other penis pushed into your face.

This is the dumbest defense I have heard in quite some time.

“Based on my time with Debbie, I believe her to be unusually honest and straightforward and I cannot imagine her making this up. Based on my time with Brett, I believe that he and his social circle were capable of the actions that Debbie described.”

“They seem poised to go on national TV to testify in detail to the public about how Kavanaugh and his friends in high school got girls drunk (or drugged) and then raped them.

If that happens, the accusations so far against Trump’s Supreme Court nominee will seem pale by comparison.

It’s hard to imagine Senator Susan Collins or any other “swing” votes in the Senate voting to confirm someone with so many credible sexual assault claims against him. At the very least they will demand an FBI investigation to find out the truth.”

“If there are additional allegations to come forward, this would absolutely be the time because I don’t see us pursuing this matter much more than the next week or two at most.”
“In one of his emails to Davis, Avenatti said he has “significant evidence” that Kavanaugh and Judge targeted women “with alcohol/drugs in order to allow a ‘train’ of men to subsequently GANG RAPE them.”

“Asked about the allegations in an interview with Fox News on Monday night, Kavanaugh said “that’s totally false and outrageous. I’ve never done any such thing, known about any such thing.”

    • Anonymous September 25, 2018 at 7:37 am

“So let this be a warning to Donald Trump, Brett Kavanaugh and other surrogates on the Senate Judiciary Committee,” Avenatti said. “Be very, very careful if you launch some smear campaign against my client because you will ultimately be shown to be a fraud.” “In the email, he claimed to have “significant evidence” that Kavanaugh and a friend from high school participated in “targeting” women at house parties with “alcohol/drugs.””

“This is a story because it demonstrates the force of the hatred thrown at victims who come forward.

If you add in the already traumatized soul of a victim to this kind relentless, seething hatred, you can see why victims don’t come forward and why it’s imperative that we change the way we treat women, men and children who come forward with allegations.”

      it’s called society shame the unacceptable.” “Enough. Enough of letting predators and bullies and horrible people silence those who are trying to do what they see as the right thing, trying to stand up for themselves, or trying to save the nation from having an alleged rapist on the Supreme Court. {We already have one in the white house.}

I laughed hard, though derisively, when I heard that statement this a.m. How stupid do they really think American’s are – check that – yeah, they think we are that dumb. And sorry to say, in a lot of cases, they’re perfectly correct in that assumption.

“The New Yorker piece touches on the fact that Republican staffers knew about the allegations last week. It notes that some “expressed concern” about the effect they could have on Kavanaugh’s nomination ― and that, soon after, GOP senators made a new push to speed up Kavanaugh’s vote. GOP staffers were “factoring that into their strategic thinking about how to move forward,”
“Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), a member of the Judiciary Committee, tweeted Wednesday that it was “imperative” to hurry up and vote on Kavanaugh. “

Stephens wasn’t even close to being done, however.

Because “New York values.” Because his fellow politicians detest him, and that’s just among Republicans. Because he never got over being the smartest kid in eighth grade. Because he’s conniving enough to try to put one over you, but not perceptive enough to realize that you see right through him. “Kavanaugh initially denied both charges in a measured and concise statement. But in his Monday letter, the nominee went full Clarence Thomas, painting himself as the victim of a “coordinated” attack. He dismissed Ramirez’s “false and uncorroborated accusation from 35 years ago” as part of a “frenzy to come up with something—anything—that will block this process.” The claims from Ramirez and Ford, he insisted, “are smears, pure and simple.” And he declared that this “grotesque and obvious … last-minute character assassination” will “dissuade competent and good people of all political persuasions from service.””

“”His confirmation would compromise the integrity of the court for generations to come.” The statement is notable in that it makes not only an ethical plea against Kavanaugh’s confirmation but also a practical one, warning that if he is confirmed to the Supreme Court, “the legitimacy of everything Judge Kavanaugh touches will be questioned.”

“The full statement from Time’s Up is below:

The time has come for Judge Brett Kavanaugh to withdraw his nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court. Given the multiple serious allegations against him, Kavanaugh can no longer credibly serve on the nation’s highest court. His confirmation would compromise the integrity of the court for generations to come.

There is simply no path forward: A man accused of multiple instances of sexual violence cannot have decision-making power over the lives of American women for decades to come. If elevated to the high court, the legitimacy of everything Judge Kavanaugh touches will be questioned. For the good of the court and the good of the country, Judge Kavanaugh must withdraw his nomination.

We understand why some might think railroading this nomination through is still a viable option. Profound culture shifts are difficult to comprehend in history books, let alone as they happen. The Supreme Court is 229 years old and women have had the right to vote in this country for less than a century. For far too long, the safety and dignity of women was secondary to the needs of powerful men. But that era is done. The rules have changed. Thoughtful American citizens, regardless of political party, will not tolerate this man as an arbiter of justice on the nation’s highest court.

Judge Kavanaugh, do not delay the inevitable. Withdraw your nomination NOW.”

“Now a New York Times Best Seller and a National Book Award finalist. Charged with racial, sexual, and political overtones, the confirmation of Clarence Thomas as a Supreme Court justice was one of the most divisive spectacles the country has ever seen. Anita Hill s accusation of sexual harassment by Thomas, and the attacks on her that were part of his high-placed supporters rebuttal, both shocked the nation and split it into two camps. One believed Hill was lying, the other believed that the man who ultimately took his place on the Supreme Court had committed perjury.”
“They interview witnesses that the Judiciary Committee chose not to call, and present documents never before made public. They detail the personal and professional pasts of both Clarence Thomas and Anita Hill and lay bare a campaign of lobbying, public relations, and character assassination fueled by conservative power at its most desperate.”
    “‘Strange Justice’-
is not only a definitive account of the Clarence Thomas nomination hearings, but is also a classic casebook of how the Washington game is played by those for whom winning is everything.”

When I read what he said about no sexual assaults, how he was a virgin in high school and well into, or even after college (he leaves that open) and so he could not have committed sexual assault it makes me crazy. This just proves how ignorant these men are about what sexual assault. It sounds just like Clinton, “I did not have sex with that woman”. Are so many men really that stupid? And, if he really believes that he has absolutely no right to be on the Supreme Court, or any other court for that matter.

This attitude strikes me as being something that men in powerful positions cling to, and especially those who grew up with great privilege who have always been part of the “ruling class” and had things in life handed to them. They get to make the rules and set the definitions of what is right, wrong, acceptable all during their lives and end up being stupid ignorant and harmful. This man cannot be give the chance to make decisions that affect the lives of everyone — the vast majority of which did not grow up in his world, with his privilege and who have been reared with a different pov. Too many of our judges come from that background and it has to stop. He is just not qualified to make legal decisions that will affect everyone — people of all ages, genders, education, and ethnic and national background/history. We have to have fewer white men of privilege making the decisions that rule our lives. MORE DIVERSITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and this too — who said, it is not the act, but the cover-up that gets them? That is what has to happen here, now. He was probably as bad as they are saying, when in high school and college and after — and so were many others both male and female. But, as is also being said, that was 35 or so years ago. If he would own that behavior and tell us all when he decided he had to take a different path in life to achieve his goals, and what he did to get on that path and stay on it — If he could do that, and be honest and believable, THEN, he could make a case for himself. And, he might find support among many now so upset with the prospect of him being on the Supreme Court for the rest of his and our lives.

But, he is choosing to dig in, the go to the “house organ” — FOX NEWS — to do it, and he is just showing how much of a weakling and partisan man he is. And, this man must not get that position. Our elected Congress Must do what is good for the country and not for that man who is president now or themselves. Someone has to be decent and brave among the Republicans, right? 3 Someone’s is all that is needed, so where are they?

Personally, I already commented days ago that he is probable an alcoholic and he hates women. It was also interesting that he cut off his wife from answering a question during his rehearsed interview. Maybe she didn’t have time to memorize the same talking points like he did… I am a victim of these meanine women who a plotted with the democrats to ruin my life.

Kavanaugh’s Body Language Shows Him To Be A “Smooth Liar”

A body language expert revealed on Tuesday that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh was not telling the truth when he told Fox News that he wanted a “fair process” for himself and the women who have accused him of sexual misconduct.

Following Kavanaugh’s interview on Fox News, HLN host Carol Costello spoke to body language expert Patti Wood about the judge’s performance.

Wood said that she immediately noticed that Kavanaugh was “not as emotional as you would expect somebody to be” after being accused of sexual assault.

“Very repetitive, very robotic, and that indicated that he’d been highly coached,” Wood explained. “He wasn’t surprised at any of the questions, which also indicated he knew what the questions were ahead of time and he was able to prepare for them.”

The body language expert noticed that Kavanaugh shook his head side to side whenever he mentioned he wanted a “fair process.”

“He’s actually shaking his head ‘no’ when he says, ‘All I want is fairness,’” she pointed out. “It’s very important because that’s a limbic system response, it’s not a conscious decision to shake your head ‘no’ and it really indicates, in alignment with what he said, that he doesn’t want fairness. He wants something other than fairness.”

“It’s interesting that he used that statement 17 times during the interview,” she continued. “And he didn’t ask for what most innocent people would ask for, and that is a thorough investigation.”

Wood observed that Kavanaugh made a “smooth lie” when he said that he spent his “life” as a judge.

“That’s a lie and you see how smoothly he states that,” Wood said. “His voice, tone and speaking rate are even. He even smiles as he adds on to that statement. So we know he’s a smooth liar and that he redefines terms.”

According to Wood, Kavanaugh redefining the term “sexual assault” was another example of a “smooth lie.”

“In a police interrogation, that’s a red flag,” Wood said of Kavanaugh’s body language. “He’s able to do this… very carefully and considered and repetitively, a smooth lie.”

  16. anonymous September 25, 2018 at 1:25 pm

“Ford says Judge was the only eyewitness to Kavanaugh’s assault against her. An ex-girlfriend of Judge’s told the New Yorker that Judge “had told her ashamedly of an incident that involved him and other boys taking turns having sex with a drunk woman.” Attorney Michael Avenatti, who says he represents a third woman who will soon step forward with an allegation of sexual misconduct involving Kavanaugh, claims he has “significant evidence” that Kavanaugh and Judge “would participate in the targeting of women with alcohol/drugs.” And on Tuesday evening, the New York Times reported that Kavanaugh bragged about his conquest of a girl in his high school yearbook.”

  17. Anonymous in Chicago September 25, 2018 at 2:22 pm

I was interested in Kavanaugh wife’s body language. Ashley Kavanaugh looks like she’s just going along with whatever he says. She looked humiliated, scared and unloved by her asshole husband. She totally deferred to him.

Russ Feingold wrote an opinion piece on Kavanaugh last week about how Kavanaugh has lied before under oath and it’s worth a read. Here it is:

    • Anon September 25, 2018 at 2:41 pm

“Lying under oath cannot and must not be rewarded with a seat on the nation’s highest court.”
“Others may have been involved, but Kavanaugh played a decisive leadership role in managing Pickering’s nomination and then lied to me about it.”
“Taking all his testimony together, we see a clear pattern emerge: Brett Kavanaugh has never appeared under oath before the U.S. Senate without lying.”
“So as an illegitimate administration goes to work attacking the credibility of a brave woman recounting her assault, let’s recognize the enormously cynical hypocrisy: The nominee they’re desperate to protect is a calculated liar who uses dishonesty to advance his own career. And any denial of these accusations by Kavanaugh before the committee must be viewed in the context of his multiple earlier lies under oath to that same committee.

This nomination can and must be withdrawn.”

Confirming a person to a lifetime position who has questionable character is the biggest mistake that can be made in American politics.

The Republican strategy has been to distract away from Kavanaugh’s character. Outside of hearing about his coaching of girls basketball, which has taken on a whole different light given the current allegations, there has been little personal defense of Kavanaugh. Sen. Gillibrand was right. Trump and the Republicans are trying to get Kavanaugh confirmed in a haze of confusion.

This is a nomination that should have never been put forward and must be defeated for the good of the country.
