My source has made it clear that the next step is to subpoena AG Barr to make him come testify before the House Judiciary Committee and compel him to answer questions posed by congressional attorneys. A reminder: The hang up is that Barr only wants Qs to come from lawmakers.

Attorney General William P. Barr told a House panel on Wednesday that he will not testify about special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s report, raising the prospect that Democrats will hold the nation’s top law enforcement official in contempt of Congress.
Barr had been scheduled to testify before the House Judiciary Committee on Thursday about his handling of Mueller’s report on Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
But Barr balked as the committee wanted a counsel to question him alongside lawmakers, a snub of the congressional panel that angered Democrats.
I actually think that Barr realizes he really stepped in it during the Senate hearing today and is afraid of what the House Democrats will do with those slip-ups tomorrow.
Senate Democrats already gave him a taste of what that might feel like.

SEN. MAZIE HIRONO: Mr. Barr, the American people know you are no different from Rudy Giuliani or Kellyanne Conway, or any of the other people who sacrifice their once decent reputation for the grifter and liar who sits in the oval office. You once turned down a job offer from Donald Trump to represent him as his private attorney. At your confirmation hearing, you told Sen. Feinstein that, quote, “The job of Attorney General is not the same as representing the president.”
Yeah, that left a mark.
From what I hear the House Judiciary Committee has every intention of holding this hearing whether Barr shows up or not.
So I imagine that the Attorney General will spend the day hiding under his bed.
