Arizona saw a 75% drop in new coronavirus cases after the state added local mask mandates, restrictions on public events and closures of bars, gyms, movie theaters and restaurants in the middle of June, according to a new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The measures were added in mid-June.

The state saw a 75% drop less than two months later on Aug. 7.

The underlying message is that masks work.

It may not be a perfect solution but right now it, along with social distancing, is all we have.

Wear your mask!
