And so it’s done. We now have a new Supreme Court Justice.

Protests are now exploding all over Capitol Hill.

The Senate narrowly confirmed Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court Saturday, ending a divisive, bitter and downright ugly nomination process, marked by allegations of sexual misconduct, lying under oath and out-of-bounds youthful behavior against the man who will now fill a lifetime role on the nation’s highest court.

The final tally was 50 yes votes to 48 no ones, the closest margin for the confirmation of a Supreme Court Justice since 1881. As the Senate began casting votes, dozens of protestors began screaming, including screams of “I do not consent,” and “shame” with new people speaking out intermittently and being led as Vice President Mike Pence, who was presiding over the vote, ordered the sergeant at arms to have them removed.

Sen. Lisa Murkowksi (R-AK) was the lone Republican defector but agreed to vote present to allow for Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT) to attend his daughter’s wedding in Montana without having to fly back to D.C. to cast a critical “yes” vote. Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) was the only Democrat to support Kavanaugh’s nomination.

Kavanaugh’s confirmation process was one of the most bitter in recent memory and it has left the Senate—and the country—in a raw and angry state.

So now it is official that we have placed yet another man credibly accused of sexual harassment and sexual assault on the Supreme Court of the United States.

Is this what Trump meant by making America great again?

Keep in mind that he could not have accomplished this without the support of the Republicans in the Senate, which includes Susan Collins, and one lone Democrat, Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia.

They should be asking themselves if this vote was worth the political cost.

If anything is going to drive women to the polls by the millions in 2018 it is this newly appointed Supreme Court Justice.

Update: Kavanaugh being sworn in.

I see he has his wife well trained.

But then I guess if she did not do what he said he would just cover her mouth and turn up the stereo.

I have a feeling that more stories like this are going to continue to come out, probable not women because is it really worth being degraded again by the republicans.

    More cover up

Chief Justice John Roberts has been sitting on ‘more than a dozen’ judicial complaints against Kavanaugh for three weeks: report

    • Anonymous October 7, 2018 at 2:38 pm

Hardly a surprise since Boof Kavanaughty is the one that told Bush to make Roberts Chief Justice. The other hand is just being washed.

  3. AK October 6, 2018 at 1:21 pm

“Murkowski was the only Republican who did not vote to confirm Kavanaugh. She initially voted no, and then withdrew her “no” vote to instead re-list herself as “present.””

There will be repercussions. For sure. However, I am now worried that the sexual-predator-in-chief will call out a martial Law before the elections next month. Because even with all their gerrymandering, the GOP cannot prevent the blue tsunami coming in exactly one month.

    • Anonymous October 6, 2018 at 2:04 pm

      That was my thought EXACTLY. no matter which way the vote went on Kav. It is his ‘tRUMP’ card in the waiting. {HE’LL create a false flag if all else fails}

‘“The complaints seek investigations only of the public statements he has made as a nominee to the Supreme Court of the United States.”

“The situation is highly unusual, legal experts and several people familiar with the matter said,” The Post explained. “Never before has a Supreme Court nominee been poised to join the court while a fellow judge recommends that a series of misconduct claims against that nominee warrant review.”

Roberts was appointed by then-President George W. Bush, who revealed in his memoir that Kavanaugh had helped him decide to nominate Roberts to the court.

“If Justice Roberts sits on the complaints then they will reside in a kind of purgatory and will never be adjudicated,” New York University Law School Professor Stephen Gillers explained. “This is not how the rules anticipated the process would work.”’

I sure hope that no money from the DNC or the DSCC is ever sent on to Manchin for his campaigning. What a traitor to the American people! Manchin did a great disservice to his constituents in West Virginia and to all Americans with his “yes” vote today. Does he think that an entitled, elitist far right conservative will ever vote to protect the interests or the lives of the ordinary people of West Virginia should any cases involving coal mining incidents, accidents or pollution ever come before the Supreme Court. Nope. Kavanaugh’s been bought and paid for by the GOP billionaires.

I stopped donating to the DNC after they funded an independent candidate for president in 2016. My funds now go to local candidates only.

Wait until he takes their healthcare away and they all die of blacklung, but Joe will have his senate seat.

One PAC has already cut off funds for his reelection. He votes with the republicans all the time so we aren’t losing anything if he loses.

      • Anonymous October 6, 2018 at 10:25 pm

He’s already done that. There has to be a way for the party to kick this DINO out. If he wants to run, let it be as a Republican. After all, that’s the way he votes anyway. A message needs to be sent to all the DINOS and Blue Dogs: if you don’t stand in solidarity with the party you will be on your own and we will fully fund your challenger. Enough of this losing shit.

  7. JASON October 6, 2018 at 1:59 pm

Hopefully Kavanaugh will drink himself to an early death. He really is a piece of shit who’s not worthy of even having a law license.

A sad day for the mother and father that must choose between their falsely accused son vs the raped and assaulted daughter.

  9. Anon October 6, 2018 at 2:21 pm

All GOP women can sleep well tonight knowing they have placed an honest nice supreme court judge for life on the bench of the supreme court. They can be proud of their president for his choice and truthful character. It is remarkable that no GOP woman, man nor child have be raped or assaulted. Their faith and religion forgives and forgets all accused of rape. assault, hate, racism, lying, cheating and stealing. This is a clear message to our children, it is ok.

You just wouldn’t believe how may of those morons are still touting him for 2020. His supporters were a special breed of nincompoop, that’s for sure, and not all of them were ignorant millennials, believe it or not. I know a few who are suffering under this current regime, and I laugh, I laugh so fucking hard.

Lotta of ’em are stupid 20 and 30 somethings that still live with their parents, just as one would assume.

Hey, Ivan. You still pushing that bullshit?

  11. Anonymous October 6, 2018 at 3:19 pm

Looks like we are stuck with him, according to a reporter on PBS,it takes 67 votes to impeach him.

I guess it is up to Justice Ginsburg to take him out to the woodshed.

  12. barbara carlson October 6, 2018 at 3:26 pm

Only bright (tiny) spark: BK may feel so ashamed he will bend over backwards to be non-partisan,
sober and judicially upstanding. He knows all eyes are watching, including a fellow SC judge.

he is so compromised — his GOP confirmers blackmailing him, knowing the truth of Dr. Ford’s accusations
from Mark Judge’s private testimony to them alone — that he will continue to be the toady with think he is.

    • Patricia Olmstead October 6, 2018 at 5:02 pm

As of next Tuesday, when mr. kavanaugh takes the bench, ALL three branches of the United States Government will be compromised.

That was when Bash confronted the conservative senator by mentioning “betrayal.”

“I want to ask you, and you know this because you’re witnessing this happening at your home, at your offices, in Washington, and in Maine,” “Women saying you betrayed women. Planned Parenthood gave you an award on your work for protecting reproductive rights.”

“Here is what their political arm had to say about your vote, the CNN host continued,
“‘Senator Collins made it clear she can no longer call herself a woman’s right to champion. She sided with those who disbelieved, disrespected and even mocked survivors. We deserve better. Women won’t forget.’”

NO! Like The Rump’s illegitimate election, what we have is not a “Justice” but an illegitimate occupier of a seat on the Supreme Court. Liek teh Rump, he’s a phony and a fraud, put there only by unethical and likely illegal machinations of Yertle and his corrupted asses.
