Almost lost in yesterday’s news cycle was the fact that another Republican Congressman, Duncan Hunter, was indicted.

Oh, and by the way, this was the SECOND member of the House to endorse Donald Trump.

Courtesy of CNN:

Republican Congressman Duncan Hunter and his wife, Margaret, routinely — and illegally — used campaign funds to pay personal bills big and small, from luxury vacations to kids’ school lunches and delinquent family dentistry bills, according to a stinging 47-page indictment unsealed Tuesday.

The charges of wire fraud, falsifying records, campaign finance violations and conspiracy were the culmination of a Department of Justice investigation that has stretched for more than a year, during which the Republican congressman from California has maintained his innocence.

The detailed indictment portrays the Hunters as living well beyond their means and said they “knowingly conspired with each other” to convert campaign funds to personal use.

Federal prosecutors contend that the Hunters repeatedly misrepresented what their expenses were for — in one instance buying personal clothing at a golf course so that the purchase “could be falsely reported to the treasurer as ‘balls for the wounded warriors,'” the indictment says.

The indictment also charges that Duncan Hunter facilitated the “theft of campaign funds” by directing his treasurer to obtain a campaign credit card for his wife at a time when she had no formal role.

The congressman then insisted that his wife be named as his paid campaign manager — over the objections of his treasurer — because, according to the document, he said the family needed “the extra money that would come from her salary.”

Rep. Hunter was warned repeatedly by his campaign staff that his wife was improperly using campaign funds, but in response, he simply lashed out at them.

As I mentioned at the top this is the second Trump supporting Congressman to be indicted on federal charges, the other being Chris Collins who was arrested by the FBI on August 8th.

Boy that Donald Trump really attracts the best supporters don’t you think?

Too bad this story is getting buried by the more important news. This jerk and his wife are the epitome of entitled. They stole $250,000 from his campaign donations. They lived way above their means, taking expensive trips, eating at expensive restaurants, kids in private school etc. His salary as a Rep is $170;000 which they blew through In no time. In the five years they the indictments covered, they had 1,100 overdrafts on their personal checking account! I spent the time reading the indictments in wonder. Of course his father (whose seat in the House the son inherited) says it is all a politely hack by those darned Democrats. The sad thing is, people in San Diego say that he will still be re-elected, that most of this was public news and he still won the primary. Yet the democrats are the crooked ones? I do feel sorry for their three kids. It doesn’t seem like either side of their family is any more honest.

I think it is incredible that this scumbag is likely to win re-election to the House despite the charges against him and his wife. They claimed that the money was being used for all sorts of “worthy causes,” especially causes related to disabled veterans. I thought Republicans loved veterans, the more disabled the better. I guess Republicans care about veterans the way they vote against measures that will help them. But they use veterans in order to win elections. And their stupid supporters lap it up. And continue to shout “lock her up” any time that Hillary Clinton’s name is mentioned. What imbeciles Republican voters are!

I heard about Duncan Hunter on TV news this afternoon and I couldn’t help but smile from ear to ear and proclaim “Yes!”. Maybe greedy wifey will be punished also. How wonderful it is for their children to benefit from the parent’s thefts…bet the kiddos are so grateful for all the goodies! (Reminds me of SarahPAC and all the undeserved good stuff Bristol received while Willow received comparatively nothing.)

I am so sick of the hypocritical GOPers getting away with illegal behavior and blaming the Democrats when they are caught. Let the Hunters lose their home, go to prison and their kids be embarrassed. When both Mom and Dad are crooks, the whole family should be ashamed to show their faces.

Duncan Hunter JUNIOR. This asshole has ridden on his Dad’s political coattails in a strongly Republican district. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of those voting for him still think they’re voting for his Dad.

Hunter’s lawyer fought hard to delay the indictment until after the November elections because he said it might negatively influence his client’s re-election chances. But I don’t think he has anything to worry about. Even if he’s convicted I’m sure the dumb fucks will still vote for him.

Hunter is now saying he welcomes the chance to clear his name.

If anyone remembers, this isn’t the first time he’s been caught with his hand in the till. They used campaign funds for a plane ticket for their pet rabbit and got caught. He paid it back and was re-elected.

Which just goes to show you can’t fix stupid but you can keep voting for it.

Collins was the first person to endorse tRump; Hunter, the second. Who was third? Why J. Beauregard Sessions III, no less. Does that mean anything?
