A bear has been blamed for a pair of vehicle break-ins at an Alaska airport parking lot that resulted in thousands of dollars in damage to one car, officials said.

The vandalism occurred at the Island Air terminal parking lot adjacent to the Kodiak Benny Benson State Airport, The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reported Wednesday.

Vehicle owners Doreen Phillips and Alyssa Brenteson are both residents of Akhiok, a village about 90 miles (145 kilometers) from Kodiak.

Brenteson parked her car for two days at the lot and returned to find a caved-in roof, broken window, ripped seats, and muddy bear prints and fur covering her car, she said.

An estimate determined Brenteson’s car suffered $15,000 in damages, she said.

Brenteson noticed Phillips’ car experienced similar damage two days later, she said.

The Island Air lot is near a wooded area and separate from the long-term parking lot at the airport, which charges $5 per day. Brenteson and Phillips use the free parking area while making regular trips to buy groceries and do other errands, they said.

The Department of Fish and Game said the beak ins were unusual because neither one of the cars had any food or other fragrant items that would typically atttract bears.

Apparently this bear, or bears, were just passing by and decided to fuck up these cars for shits and giggles.

Actually it is not at all unusual in Alaska to have your car ransacked by a bear, but typically that does not happen at the freaking airport.

I have a friend in Cordova who is a pilot. Years back, he flew his family out to a remote air strip for a family outing between Cordova and Yakutat. Almost as soon as he stepped out of the plane, a bear charged out of the brush and attacked him, biting his head and body, injuring him severely. The bear then ran off. Meanwhile he was bleeding badly. But they had no radio reception where they were. So, as the only pilot, he got the family back in the plane and took off and flew to a fishing lodge between where they were and Cordova, After landing, he passed out from loss of blood and shock. The lodge got hold of rescuers and he was transported to town where he recovered.

    Speaking of Alaska:

From Bristol’s Inistagram page, looks as though she has purchased a new house . . . ” closed on a new home for my little fam today!! ” She’s still hawking that poop tea.

From Dakota’s Instagram page: Check out the photo of Dakota and the two girls in aprons in the kitchen. Look at the kitchen counter behind them . . . notice the counter is filled with the usual kitchen counter stuff . . . compared to Bristol’s kitchen counters that are always pictured as spotless and empty.

Meanwhile, Sarah is pictured with “Molly and Hoda” — never heard of them.
