President Donald Trump’s plan to pay for his proposed border wall by taking funds from more than four dozen Air Force military construction projects poses various national security risks for the U.S. armed forces, according to a report compiled by the U.S. Air Force.

The report, obtained by NBC News, details the importance of each of the 51 military projects chosen by the Trump administration to lose their funding, including construction of a new gate to address a growing security concern at an overseas U.S. base, projects to build facilities to safely store more than $1 billion in munitions overseas, and even replacing a boiler whose failure is “imminent” and could cause the evacuation of an entire base in Alaska.

President Trump earlier this year declared a national emergency in an effort to circumvent Congress and fund the wall he promised to build along the U.S. border with Mexico, citing “an invasion of our country with drugs, with human traffickers, will all types of criminals and gangs.”

The report detailed some of the projects put into jeopardy by Trump’s plan to steal funds from the military.

There is a main entry point gate at Incirlik Air Base in Turkey which is vulnerable to attack and desperately needs fortification, there is a need for a munitions storage unit at Andersen Air Force Base in Guam to house over a billion dollars in munitions needed for military exercises and combat, and a boiler at Eielsen Air Force Base in Alaska that is in danger of failing and leaving the entire base without heat or electricty when temperatures hit 65 degrees below zero.

All of those are imprtant projects that protect our soldiers and ensure the safety of our citizens, and ALL of them are vastly more important than Trump’s wall designed to deal with his made up immigration “crisis.”

This report will put a ton of pressure on Republican politicians in Washington, who may want to be seen supporting Trump, but definitely do NOT want to be seen supporting decisions that endanger national security.

I agree 100%. You can add to that list Moscow Mitch and the rest of the senate republicans. The elected republicans are so terrified of trump that they will risk the security of the US to keep trump from attacking them.

““nuclear war is a destructive thing but still in large part a physics problem.” – “. He said that in a scenario in which 20 million people died in the U.S. as opposed to 150 million, the nation could then emerge as the stronger side and prevail in its objectives.

His argument was that with enough planning and civil defense measures, such as “a certain layer of dirt and some reinforced construction materials,” the effects of a nuclear war could be limited and that U.S. would be able to fairly quickly rebuild itself after an all-out conflict with the then-Soviet Union.

“It may take 15 years, but geez, look how long it took Europe to recover after the Second World War,” Kupperman said. Referring to the Japanese city on which the U.S. dropped the first atomic bomb in 1945, he also claimed that “Hiroshima, after it was bombed, was back and operating three days later.” “
