A second credible source comes forward to accuse Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct. And this may not be the last.

Keep in mind that the Bill Cosby case started with a single accusation as well.

Courtesy of The New Yorker:

As Senate Republicans press for a swift vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh, President Trump’s nominee to the Supreme Court, Senate Democrats are investigating a new allegation of sexual misconduct against Kavanaugh. The claim dates to the 1983-84 academic school year, when Kavanaugh was a freshman at Yale University. The offices of at least four Democratic senators have received information about the allegation, and at least two have begun investigating it. Senior Republican staffers also learned of the allegation last week and, in conversations with The New Yorker, expressed concern about its potential impact on Kavanaugh’s nomination. Soon after, Senate Republicans issued renewed calls to accelerate the timing of a committee vote. The Democratic Senate offices reviewing the allegations believe that they merit further investigation. “This is another serious, credible, and disturbing allegation against Brett Kavanaugh. It should be fully investigated,” Senator Mazie Hirono, of Hawaii, said. An aide in one of the other Senate offices added, “These allegations seem credible, and we’re taking them very seriously. If established, they’re clearly disqualifying.”

The woman at the center of the story, Deborah Ramirez, who is fifty-three, attended Yale with Kavanaugh, where she studied sociology and psychology. Later, she spent years working for an organization that supports victims of domestic violence. The New Yorker contacted Ramirez after learning of her possible involvement in an incident involving Kavanaugh. The allegation was conveyed to Democratic senators by a civil-rights lawyer. For Ramirez, the sudden attention has been unwelcome, and prompted difficult choices. She was at first hesitant to speak publicly, partly because her memories contained gaps because she had been drinking at the time of the alleged incident. In her initial conversations with The New Yorker, she was reluctant to characterize Kavanaugh’s role in the alleged incident with certainty. After six days of carefully assessing her memories and consulting with her attorney, Ramirez said that she felt confident enough of her recollections to say that she remembers Kavanaugh had exposed himself at a drunken dormitory party, thrust his penis in her face, and caused her to touch it without her consent as she pushed him away. Ramirez is now calling for the F.B.I. to investigate Kavanaugh’s role in the incident. “I would think an F.B.I. investigation would be warranted,” she said.

I was a little hesitant about this one because at first, it sounded as if Ramirez was not sure about her memories of the incident, but then I learned that others had backed up her version of events.

The incident involved Kavanaugh taking out his penis and thrusting it into the face of Ramirez while at least one other male chanted “kiss it.”

Ramirez, raised as a devout Catholic, was a virgin at that time and so was quite traumatized by the event.

Another thing that I learned is that the Senate Republicans have known about this second incident since last week, and rather than put the brakes on in order to investigate, they have instead pushed for the nomination to happen quickly. Possibly before any new allegations surface.

However, it may be a little late on that last one.

This whole thing looks like it is going to blow up in the GOP’s face.

Update: Getting even more interesting.

Whoa, Nelly!

Seduced by erroneous belief in the permanence of physical forms, the GOP has veins pulsing deep with ignorance.

This cock-slinging bandit Kavanagh likely will be sworn in – tribes bond out of shared ignorance. To wake up would be like a literal death. Jesus’ message represenrs a metaphorical death, using physical symbolism. The literalists and tribes have not yet woken to this link. We are that link, not a later heaven elsewhere. We are those living mythic symbols, as human masks of eternity.

““Whether you believe these women or you don’t, it’s become completely political because it’s a Supreme Court confirmation hearing,” she said. “It’s not like a regular ‘Me Too’ allegation… Same way when [Alabama Senate candidate] Roy Moore was accused, those women were accused of being political operatives.” “[The FBI] is not a super-secret police force to investigate super-secret really bad things,” she said. “That’s why we have congressional investigators. The Republicans actually are investigating the Christine Blasey Ford allegations. And the Democrats have refused to do so!”

“She’s represented by Democratic operatives,” Kelly complained. “One of her lawyers denied that it was sexual harassment when Bill Clinton allegedly exposed himself to Paul Jones! That woman saw sexual harassment very differently when the accused was a Democrat!” “He’s saying he didn’t do it, Joe!” Kelly shouted, cutting off Levy. “He’s not saying that those allegations against him amount to nothing if he did! He’s saying he didn’t do it!” “‘HE TOO’ ?

In fact she was complicit by taking the money ,which allowed him to molest other women.

” Trump, Conway, and all other Republicans have been silent on the information supplied Sunday night by Michael Avenatti. He said he has been retained by a third woman who has multiple witnesses willing to testify that Brett Kavanaugh and Mark Judge participated in the DRUGGING AND GANG RAPING of women at DC house parties in the 1980s.

Late last night Avenatti sent an email to Mike Davis, Chief Counsel for Nominations for U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary which gave details of the shocking new allegations.”

“Calling Ramirez a “so-called accuser,” CONway echoed Kavanaugh’s claim that he is the victim of “smear campaign” and added, “Indeed, this is starting to feel like a vast left-wing conspiracy.”

“I know there is pent up demand for women to get their day, woman who have been sexually harassed and sexually assaulted, and I personally am very aggrieved for all of them,” she added. “But are we going to put decades of PENT UP demand for women to feel whole on one man’s shoulders? What exactly is the standards for ruining one man’s life based on decades of allegations that have nothing to do with him?””
“I just don’t think one man’s shoulders should bear decades of the #MeToo movement.”

    NOW 4

“While investigators weren’t specific and spoke on background, they said they are looking at allegations against Kavanaugh during his senior year in high school after an anonymous witness came forward this weekend.

This would potentially bring the number to four women accusing Kavanaugh of wrongdoing and comes after Deborah Ramirez, a former Yale college student, stepped forward this weekend to accuse Kavanaugh of exposing himself to her in college, and after attorney Michael Avenatti tweeted out a message saying he represents a woman with “credible information regarding Judge Kavanaugh and Mark Judge.””

  6. anonymous September 24, 2018 at 7:56 am

Under the subject line: “What You Need To Know About The Allegations Made In The New Yorker,”
the administration’s bullet-pointed list focused on Ramirez’s admissions of drunkenness and her reluctance to speak about the alleged assault.

You should look at more recent posts on Avenatti’s Twitter line. He has posted a letter he sent to the nomination committee regarding reports of drinking, drugs, and gang rapes starring, you guessed it, Mark Judge and Brett Kavanaugh.

“The Pennsylvania courtroom where Bill Cosby is being sentenced is on break until 1:30 p.m. ET.

Proceedings are underway in Montgomery County to sentence the 81-year-old comedian on three counts of aggravated indecent assault for drugging and assaulting Andrea Constand in 2004. He was convicted in April.

Lawyers have been arguing over whether it’s constitutional to make Cosby register as a sex offender. Judge Steven T. O’Neill has not yet ruled on whether Cosby will be subjected to the sex offender designation.

Kristen Dudley, a psychologist and a member of the Pennsylvania Sexual Offenders Assessment Board, testified in state court that Cosby should be labeled a “sexually violent predator” because he has a mental disorder that involves urges toward non-consenting women. Dudley finished her examination just before the break.”

“Mayer and Farrow found emails among Kavanaugh’s former classmates dated prior to Blasey Ford coming forward, in which they mention the incident Ramirez spoke about, and say that if the FBI investigates Kavanaugh, his nomination will come to an end.

“There’s a very sober background source, who was not part of the party – was not drunk, heard about it either that night, he thinks, or the next day,” Mayer said. “When I asked him myself: Does he remember this, and is he sure that Kavanaugh was the person he heard about in this. “As Ford tells it, Judge at points even egged Kavanaugh on, telling him to “go for it” as he tried to remove her clothing. Judge has said he has “no recollection of the incident” and has characterized the allegations as completely unrealistic and out of character. “I can recall a lot of rough-housing with guys,” he said in an interview with the Weekly Standard. “I don’t remember any of that stuff going on with girls.””
can’t stand by and watch him lie.” “Rasor recalled that Judge had told her ashamedly of an incident that involved him and other boys taking turns having sex with a drunk woman. Rasor said that Judge seemed to regard it as fully consensual. She said that Judge did not name others involved in the incident, and she has no knowledge that Kavanaugh participated. But Rasor was disturbed by the story and noted that it undercut Judge’s protestations about the sexual innocence of Georgetown Prep.” ” Another woman, who asked to remain anonymous, also disputed Judge’s claims about the culture at Georgetown Prep. She said that it was common for male students to “get a female student blind drunk” on a mixture of grain alcohol and Hawaiian Punch that they called “jungle juice” and then try to take advantage of her. “It was disgusting,” she said. “They treated women like meat.”

An “interview” is not sworn testimony under oath under threat of perjury. This is what McConnell won’t allow any other testimony. He *know* if other witnesses are allowed to testify they will support Ford. And that includes Judge. He remembered plenty for his first two books and now he doesn’t recall? What? Is he bucking to replace Sessions as DOJ Atty Gen?

” Months, even years, after Thomas was confirmed, the defamation of Hill continued, suggesting that while justifying Thomas’ confirmation was clearly important to conservatives, a larger goal was being served as well: Scaring future women with stories to tell into remaining silent.

The front man of the campaign to smear Hill was David Brock, an American Spectator reporter who published an “exposé” of Hill in 1992 and a book titled “The Real Anita Hill” in 1993. Brock later recanted and did a public apology tour for his role as a right-wing hit man, admitting that his effort to slur Hill as “a little bit nutty and a little bit slutty” was based on false and distorted information fed to him by Republican operatives.” As in 1991, right-wing men with no expertise and no evidence feel confident is declaring they know better than a woman what’s in her head and whether or not she is delusional.

It is worth noting, to make the mansplaining even more painfully obvious, that Christine Blasey Ford holds a Ph.D. in psychology and has done research at Stanford University.

Alex Jones, on his Infowars show, showed pictures from the Holton-Arms School yearbook when Ford was a student there, declared that the photos made her look like “captain of the sluts.”
As in 1991, the whole effort is about dialing into old, ugly stereotypes about women and hoping those can be grafted onto a given situation in order to distort and obscure the facts — and to scare away any other women who may be considering stepping forward with their own tales.”

” This is about how again, in 2018, the default assumption for the GOP is not to believe a woman when she says she’s been sexually assaulted.”

Even as more accusers have come forward claiming Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted them, Sen. Collins still appears to be leaning toward a “yes” vote.”

  23. Beaglemom September 24, 2018 at 4:29 pm

One of the most pathetic and frustrating aspects of this whole thing is watching/hearing the CNN group of GOP women, for example, and various female GOP politicians, as well as some otherwise unidentifiable women trot out the “boys will be boys” blanket excuse for any and all aggressive male behavior. By a Republican male, of course. if the male involved is a Democrat, then he’s immediately seen to be a craven, evil sexual predator.

  24. Anonymous September 24, 2018 at 4:45 pm

You know he didn’t do this just once in prep school. You know this behavior didn’t suddenly stop at Yale. You know he didn’t do it just once at Yale. There are not only more victims, there are more. Witnesses. It only requires to wait for the credible and honorable men to step forward and tell the truth, yeah I was there, yes he did what she says he did. I apologize for my behavior but I cannot stand silently by and allow this to continue.

That’s all it would take. Once one victime steps forward, there will be more. Once one witness has the courage to break the code of silence, more will step forward to do the honorable thing.

If McConman continues to push this forward at top speed it will be the end of his party. It won’t stop the investigation. If this all comes out after his confirmation (plus who knows what else) it will be a told you so for Democrats and a YUGE STAIN on the Republican party. One that will destroy them in November.

Nunes’ challenger has been gaining ground and by November, that race may be a toss-up. Beto is gaining on Cruz. And the Republicans dig themselves further and further into a hole, they stand to lose more and more seats. At this point both the House and Senate could flip. If that happens, nothing McConnell has done will save them. Kavanaugh can be impeached, Trump will be impeached, Pence can be blocked until 2020.

“Any Republican that votes ‘no’ will be looking for a new job!” Wanna BET?

Lisa…will loose if she votes ‘yes’

  28. Anonymous September 24, 2018 at 5:45 pm

For those that question Kavanaugh’s detailed “calendar” for defense, we have a new … high? Low?

Kavanaugh is now defending himself with THE VIRGIN DEFENSE.

That’s right. He says he didn’t commit rape because he didn’t have intercourse in high school of “for many years.”

Well, no one is saying Kavanaugh raped anyone. Sexual assault doesn’t necessarily necessitate rape. I’d say he attempted it and failed due to extreme intoxication, illegal being underage and all. The second accusation involves exposure, sticking his dick in a woman’s face and forcing her to kiss it. Again, not rape. No intercourse involved.

Apparently there are now witnesses that are starting to step forward who are backing the women, not Kavanaugh.

If McConnell insists on ramming this through the GOP will pay for it in November, plus Kavanaugh may not last long enough to do much damage as the Democrats will be urged to impeach the bastard. If the new Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, is smart, she’ll listen to the PEOPLE rather than the DNC leadership, feckless wankers. I don’t know who will replace Bitch as Senate Majority Leader but it better not be that spineless coward that just gave the GOP 15 new fast tracked judges so they can, gee, fast track the fuck Kavanaughty.

Collins is already making noises that she’ll vote yes. She better get opposed by a strong Democrat and the party better unite and spend whatever it takes to take Collins out. Same with Murkowsky if she turns a blind eye to her constituents. Beto may take out Cruz and It looks like Devin Nunes might be in for the fight of his life as well. His opponent is gaining ground with a very credible atttack in California: WATER. Plus what they’re using against Cruz as in, what has Nunes done for his voters?
