A majority of Americans believe that Donald Trump is going to win a second term.

Wait, what?

Courtesy of CNN:

A majority of Americans say they think Donald Trump is going to win a second term, according to a CNN Poll conducted by SSRS, even as the President’s reviews on issues other than the economy remain largely negative.

The new poll finds 54% say their best guess is that Trump will win the 2020 election, 41% feel he will lose. Americans are slightly more apt to say Trump will win now than they were to say Barack Obama would win a second term in May 2011, in a survey conducted just after the death of Osama bin Laden (50% thought Obama would win in that poll). The new numbers on Trump are a reversal from December, when a narrow majority of 51% said they thought Trump would lose his bid for re-election.

The shift over that time comes mostly among those who disapprove of Trump’s handling of the presidency. In December, 81% in that group said they thought the President would lose, and now, that’s fallen to 67%. At the same time, the share who approve of the President and think he will win has held mostly steady (88% now vs. 85% in December).

The dislike those disapprovers hold for Trump is palpable in the poll. Asked to explain in their own words why they disapprove of Trump, Trump’s behavior is a central reason. The most frequently cited responses are lying (13%), racism (11%), incompetence (11%) and not acting presidential (7%). Immigration, named by 7%, is the only specific issue that merits mention by 5% or more.

Those who approve of the way Trump is handling his job as President instead focus on his accomplishments and on issues. About a quarter (26%) cite the economy as the main reason they back him, 12% say it’s because he has kept his promises, 9% say that he’s getting things done or accomplishing more than other presidents, 8% mention improved unemployment ratings and 5% point to his policies on the border.

So the number one thing that is helping to maintain his support is the economy which he had virtually nothing to do with.

That is just unbelievably sad.

We are ass deep in stupidity in this country and if this asshole gets a second term that will signal the end of any version of American exceptionalism.

This would literally be worse than when George W. Bush was reelected and that damn near broke me.

Come on folks, we can prevent this from happening.

A woman’s right to choose, the environment & Paris Climate Agreement, Russian election interference, a crook in the White House, millions spent in golf outings for Mango Hitler and over 10,000 lies, should be enough to get everyone out and vote Cadet Bone Spurs out of office.

When the American voter put George Bush back in the Oval Office for a second term I was astounded. If the voters give the mental case a second term I will no longer follow American politics and will restrict my travels to anywhere else outside the U.S.

I don’t know. I think Donny has brought ‘sunshine’ to things that never saw the light of day under other presidents. They are all crooked as a dogs hind leg. Globally.

So people want a counterfiet leader in the white house.

I’m convinced of this: if the president sworn in in January 2021 is the fellow or woman who Putin is pleased with, we can say goodbye to this alleged, fuckin’ democracy.

    • Anonymous June 10, 2019 at 3:48 pm

Is it EVER good to “see” you, dvlaries!

Oh Pumpkin will be starving to death in a Siberian prison.

Didn’t you hear? Russia upchucked graves globally.

It’s Sunny in Jerusalem. Big wink. Pussy grab.

The product of that ‘birthday present’ made it to the USA.

In the meantime, they play games with that ones money.

Oh. Not anymore. So sad too bad. No one likes a thief.

Pumpkin is very very nervous about this coming to pass.

Don’t worry. Russia will be Russia. USA will be USA.

      Be Best. Right?

Quote from CNN: “Those who approve of the way Trump is handling his job as President instead focus on his accomplishments and on issues. About a quarter (26%) cite the economy as the main reason they back him, 12% say it’s because he has kept his promises, 9% say that he’s getting things done or accomplishing more than other presidents, 8% mention improved unemployment ratings and 5% point to his policies on the border.”

The sad thing is, none of these things are true: Trump has broken more promises than he’s kept, he’s getting very few things done, new jobs and unemployment figures are not improving, and today’s facepalm Trump claims and Mexico’s president’s repudiation of those clims are proof Trump’s policies on the border are a FAIL. The people who contributed to that poll are basing their approval on what they heard Trump say, or what his surrogates at Fox News have said.

PUTIN certainly thinks Trump will win again- and he’s just the man to make it happen.

The only thing that can stop him is for non-voting Americans to get off their couches. I can’t see that happening.

    • Anonymous June 10, 2019 at 3:54 pm

Exactly what they;re hoping for, nanna. Wear ’em down until they submit.

    • Anon June 10, 2019 at 9:43 pm

or tossing Pumpkin in a Siberian prison with no heat?

It’s coming and there is nothing that can stop it.

      Sucks to be them.

    GRYPHEN https://www.propublica.org/article/kotzebue-alaska-conversation-sexual-violence-solutions#163139

Alaska making the national news for all the wrong reasons but oh my I have just seen the quality of the attorney-general and public safety commissioner your so-called governor chose. WTF? It’s like Sarah Palin all over again, find someone bad at their job or completely unqualified and get them into the cabinet.

I think the reason that more Americans think he will win a second term is because absolutely nothing has been done to stop the russians, in fact I wouldn’t be surprised if they hack into the main voting servers and change votes.

Another reason is we have watched him break the law, spend obscene money on vacationing every weekend at his own properties and other crimes and so far he has gotten away with it all.

  8. Anonymous June 10, 2019 at 6:15 pm

Whether you’re a Hillary fan or not, when you win the popular vote by 3 million+ yet lose the election, there is something SERIOUSLY wrong and why would people vote? .
That rat bastard WILL win another term.

  9. Anonymous June 10, 2019 at 6:18 pm

I don’t think Trump will win even close to the majority of votes but I think it’s a real concern that Putin’s interference will push Trump over the line again. And a situation like that is exactly what a snake like Mitch McConnell is hoping for.

we work. we get people to vote. people with cars take the old and shut ins to the poles. we go door to door. we can vote early, to leave the polls open for those who work close to closing time. vollunteer(?) at your local democrat office. we fight back. for the children who need much better. we can take America back again.

  11. Anonymous June 10, 2019 at 7:31 pm

I’ve been telling my fellow liberal friends that I believe it is highly likely he will win a second term for months now.

History favors incumbents. And just from what I’ve witnessed, Trump gets away with EVERYTHING. He’s pull more shady shit than I ever would have predicted when he first got elected. And what has happened to him? He keeps getting away with it and continues to “govern”. What consequences has he faced? Very few.

We’ve done a piss poor job of controlling him, so on that note, I can absolutely see him getting re-elected. Am I resigned to that fate? Hell no! Us Dems need to take a note from the Republicans and start fighting like hell to get what we want. But the system is absolutely rigged against us. Last time we voted, the number of popular votes that Hillary Clinton lead by roughly equaled the entire population of my home state. She lost. She also had Russia running against her, and you can bet that whoever the Democratic nominee is will also be running against Russia.

Ivanka on election night ’16 was the worst. She is REALLY stupid. And a twat.
